BUDAPEST The next wave of products destined for manufacture in the CEE region could be WiMAX equipment, said Mauro Arigossi, CEO of Italy-based Alfautomazione, a test equipment developer.
Arigossi was one of the presenters at Automotive Days in Eastern Europe, a forum in Budapest for test and measurement companies working in the automotive sector, organized by National Instruments.
Alfautomazione co-developed the IP for testers of wireless equipment based on the WiMAX standard. "We believe there is opportunity [in CEE] for this."
Mid-range telematics gear could be another product with huge potential for production in the CEE region, he said.
"The trend of Western companies nearshoring to Central and Eastern Europe is continuing and has some more years to go," he added.
